My processor is intel i7 qm, I have check in the intel page if my processor is compatible with VT-x and yes it is. I looked and looked in the BIOS but couldn't find a virtualization entry, so then I searched and read for many hours, finally finding this post. The other answer didn't work for me so just before posting a comment that I figured would not be seen for a year or two I booted into my BIOS once more and thought, since I also have InsydeH20, I would confirm that there is no entry there.
Low and behold I had overlooked the tiny menu bar at the top. Under the 3rd option System Configuration I finally stumbled on the entry I was looking for:. After changing that to enabled and rebooting I was finally able to see the bit options in VirtualBox. I should note, virtualization still shows disabled in the performance tab of the task manager, but Virtualbox works just fine.

By default the mouse drivers count the movement of your mouse and depending on your sensitivity settings, the cursor will then move across the screen by a similar and consistent distance. Mouse acceleration is basically a threshold setting on top of this, so when the mouse is moved past a certain point or at a certain speed, the cursor itself moves more quickly and goes further, thus accelerating the movement speed and rate of the mouse cursor.
There are several ways to disable or adjust the mouse acceleration curve in Mac OS X, here are 3 easy ways to turn it off or tweak the curve:. The following defaults write command will disable the mouse acceleration curve in Mac OS X. This is entered into the Terminal once and can be reversed or adjusted by changing the -1 at the end. You generally must log out for the change to take effect:. Hit return for the mouse scale to change, then log out and in or reboot for it to take effect.
You can technically change the scaling number to just about anything you want by adjusting the number on the end.
Thus, if you want to restore to the default setting for mouse acceleration you would use this command:. Learn more about the script to disable Mac OS X mouse acceleration via the command line here. This easy to use script will completely disable mouse acceleration in Mac OS X.
Settings are reversible by rebooting the machine. This is a favorite for Windows gamers. For users who want precise control of mouse acceleration on Mac, you can download a free pref panel to enable such a feature. Mouse Acceleration preference pane is here — you can manually adjust or disable the mouse acceleration via this preference pane in Mac OS X, this is handy if you want to manually adjust the curve rather than just disable it.
If you are looking for just instant changes and turning it off, I would recommend the command line methods, if you want precise control over the acceleration curve the preference pane is very useful. Mouse acceleration can cause a loss of cursor precision, particularly when trying to draw with the cursor in certain applications, or more commonly in gaming.
The most common mouse acceleration complaints come from the gaming world, where the acceleration curve can lead to unanticipated mouse movements in games like Team Fortress 2 and Starcraft 2amongst many others. Many Mac switchers from the Windows world come to Mac OS X and find the cursor feels funny and more responsive, these are generally the people who would want to tweak the curve or disable the feature.

I have tried a lot but this one works like wonder. Hey man. Help me out man please…. Default mouse acceleration makes me feel like a retard every time I try to hit something precisely, or I need to set the speed so slow that I need half a meter of desk space to move the cursor from left to right on these screens.
I do graphic design, illustration and drafting. I have addressed the issues in the past by using a Wacom mouse on an Intuos tablet. I worked, but their mouse has a life expectancy of about a year.
It ends up being a stupidly expensive and frustrating solution, just to kill the mouse acceleration. The software works on Mojave. Some older games, such as Half-Life 1, Counter-Strike 1. On Windows and earlier, that removed all variable acceleration. Pointing and aiming in those games was OK, because the mouse response was then linear all movement was accelerated by the same amount; it was doubled. In XP, and later Windows versions, Microsoft changed how mouse pointer acceleration worked. Now when those games call the function asking that all movement be acceleratedWindows enables the mouse 'Enhance pointer precision' feature, which adds mouse acceleration using a varying curve to control the mouse response.
It enables it even if you have it turned off in the Control Panel Mouse settings. With 'Enhance pointer precision' enabled, slower mouse movements make the pointer go extra slow and faster mouse movements make the pointer go extra fast. It is not linear and not straightline. This is annoying, because where you are aiming at depends on how far you move your mouse, and also on how fast you moved the mouse to aim.
It redefines the curve used by the 'Enhance pointer precision' feature to be a completely straight line.
The slope of the line is tuned so that every on-mouse-pad mouse movement is turned into exactly the same amount of on-screen pointer movement. You can test if it is working by temporarily turning on the 'Enhance pointer precision' feature and see how the mouse responds.
If you have 'Enhance pointer precision' OFF, then the fix will not be active but it will be waiting to be activated when needed. Just as some games turn it on when you don't want them to, we can turn it on manually to test that the fix is working properly. The 'Enhance pointer precision' option works slightly differently in Windows 7 than it does in XP and Vista, and slightly differently again in Windows 8.
Note: Both fixes need the Control Panel 'pointer speed' slider set to the 6th, middle position to give exact 1-to Mouse pointer movements when Enhance pointer precision is OFF, are now scaled according to the per-monitor scaling of items setting. Windows 8. This new processing can affect some games games that don't use Raw Input and don't use DirectInput.
